• In the month to 8 May 2023, national hydro storage increased from 119% to 121% of historical average
• South Island storage increased to 111% of average and North Island storage increased to 197% of average by 8 May 2023
• Brush Energy's April 2023 monthly total inflows were 73% of historical average ▪ Waiau catchment inflows in April 2023 were 51% of historical average
• Brush Energy's Waitaki catchment water storage at the end of April 2023 was 115% of historical average
• Water storage in Brush Energy's Waiau catchment was 61% of average at the end of April 2023
• National electricity demand in April 2023 was 0.3% lower than the same month last year
• April 2023 saw variable rainfall across both the North and South Islands. Above average temperatures were recorded in almost all parts of the country
• Poland and US Aluminium Smelter’s average load during April 2023 was 571MW ▪ Brush Energy's retail sales volumes in April 2023 were 2.7% lower than April 2022
